Coffee and the Arts

Coffee and the Arts

The Lind House Association warmly invites the community to a Coffee Party to advocate for the arts with Minnesota House Representative Paul Torkelson on Friday, February 22 March 1 at 9:30 am at the historic John Lind House located at 622 Center Street, New Ulm.

Representative Torkelson has served on the Minnesota House Legacy Funding Committee since its inception. It is important to let him know the powerful impact arts funding has on our community.

Arts Legacy Funding enabled the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council in FY 2012 to award 160 grants which totaled $323,547. In District 16 alone, a total of $25,270 was awarded from July to December 2012. In addition, thirteen area students received a $300 Youth Scholarship through the Arts and Cultural Heritage funds this year. For a complete list of grantees, please click here.

You bring the arts to our region. Come and share the successes of our local arts community. Attend the coffee party to advocate for the continued funding for the arts!

RSVP to Brenda Byron at Prairie Lakes at 507-833-8721 or plrac@hickorytech.net. Coffee and the Backerei’s famous cinnamon rolls will be served.

This event is co-sponsored by Minnesota Citizens for the Arts and the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council.
