Bring your friends and join us for a unique outdoor dining experience – a traditional fondue with a western twist
Pictured to the left, in a parody of Grant Wood’s iconic 1930 painting ‘American Gothic’ are Roger and the late Jo Norman, co-founders of the first Lind House Pitchfork Fondue Steak Fry.
The steaks are the star at the 4th Annual Pitchfork Fondue Steak Fry which will be held on Friday, September 11, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Hermann Heights Park Shelters.
Choice beef steak cooked on a pitchfork in a cauldron of hot oil is the showstopper, but it’s the homemade baked beans and locally grown corn on the cob that add to the charm of this traditional style of cowboy cooking. Ice cream treats are for dessert and beverages include water, 1919 Root Beer, as well as other soft drinks. Guests are more than welcome to bring their own wine and beer.
Take-outs will be available. Cost is $20 per person. A $5 hot dog child’s meal will also be available. Tickets may also be purchased at HyVee, the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce Office or from a member of the Lind House Board of Directors.
Proceeds will be used to fund Lind House remodeling projects, which include installing additional kitchen cupboards and refinishing the kitchen floor and wooden countertops.
