The annual Cocktails at the Governor’s event will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 4:30 to 7 pm at the John Lind House, 622 Center Street, New Ulm. This year the Lind House Association is celebrating the building itself with a ‘housewarming party’ honoring the 125th anniversary of the Lind family’s move into their Center Street home.

Built for John Lind, a lawyer, congressman and Minnesota’s 14th governor, the Queen Anne mansion was designed by Mankato architect Frank Thayer and constructed of local red brick over a rusticated stone base. The event includes a Dinner for 10 Drawing with proceeds benefitting the Association’s programming to increase awareness of its mission and scope. Tickets for the drawing are $2, winner need not be present to win. Cost for the event is $20 which includes appetizers and a beverage. For advance tickets, contact Trudy at 354-8802, purchase them online at lindhousecocktails.eventbrite.com or at the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce. A limited amount of tickets will be available at the door.
